Message from the Principal

It is with great pride and a deep sense of responsibility that I welcome you to the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Vikarabad. As the premier teacher education institution of the district, our mission is to nurture knowledgeable, skilled, and value-driven educators who contribute meaningfully to the progress of our school system.

At DIET Vikarabad, we believe that teachers are the architects of a nation’s future. In alignment with this vision, the institute focuses on developing professional competencies, fostering innovative teaching practices, and strengthening the educational ecosystem through continuous academic support, research, and training.

We are committed to creating an environment where teacher trainees can explore new ideas, develop critical thinking, and engage in experiential learning. Our seven academic branches work collaboratively to ensure that every teacher receives holistic training that aligns with the evolving needs of elementary education.

As we continue to move forward, DIET Vikarabad remains dedicated to promoting excellence, inclusivity, and integrity in all our endeavours. I invite all trainees, educators, and stakeholders to join us in our collective effort to build a strong and child-centred learning environment across the district.

Together, let us empower teachers—because when teachers grow, students flourish, and communities thrive.

About us

The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Vikarabad, was originally established as a Teacher Training Institute (TTI) in 1984–85 through G.O.No.168 Edn. Dt.12-03-1984. In line with the National Policy on Education (1986) and the goal of Universalisation of Elementary Education (UEE), all TTIs in the state were upgraded into DIETs in a phased manner. Accordingly, the institute was upgraded as DIET vide G.O.MS.No.121 Edn. dated 10-05-1990.
With a dedicated campus built across nearly 10 acres, the institution moved into its present premises in 1992.

DIET Vikarabad plays a district-level role in strengthening school education by offering high-quality pre-service and in-service teacher training. The institute has seven academic branches and conducts Telugu, English, and Urdu Medium sections to meet the diverse educational needs of the region.

With a strong commitment to quality education, innovation, and teacher empowerment, DIET Vikarabad continues to serve as the district’s core academic, training, and resource support centre.
